Checking out THE NEXT 3 DAYS

THE NEXT THREE DAYS.
Directed by Paul Higgins, starring Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks. Pittsburg. Remake of a French film ANYTHING FOR HER.

The plot is that Russell Crowe’s wife is serving time for killing a woman. Did she or didn’t she? That is the question. Another question, how in the world is Russell Crowe, a community college teacher, going to get her out of prison, as in “escape”?

The movie has a pulse throbbing on-edge sense way about it. The movie’s “never take your eyes off the moving hand” technique of details in pulling off a perfect escape – well, in that way, it is something like OCEAN’S 11 on pulling a series of now-you-see-now-you-don’t trickery with the authorities.

It was shot on location in Pittsburg, Pa. I think the either have or used to have steel mills there. You would never know it. It is a beautiful city.

It is fairly good movie and it is good home entertainment to rent the DVD and watch it. But I can’t see many people going to see it in a big theater. They may have skipped over that part.
