Eddie, I took a semester off from college and worked for C&P Telephone Co. I remember seeing those switch boards and all the operators. It was amazing to watch back then.
Judy, My father's only sister worked as an operator at Southern Bell in Marietta in the 1930s. That was when you told the operator what number you wanted. I bet she knew secrets of just about everybody in Marietta, which was a small town then.
