1954 Marietta Yellow Pages R thru Part of S

Some of this will be a repeat. I previously put part of the restaurants up. But, here they go again; Varners and the rest. If you were a teen or older in the 50s some of these should bring back some memories.

On the last page notice the small advertisement for LOLLIS PLACE says COLORED. It is a reminder that in 1954 we lived in a segregated society here in Marietta. And notice the other restaurants ads - do you see any that say WHITE? No, you don't. If it didn't say the race, then it was automatically implied that it was for Whites only. Shame.

    I NOTICED THE TOASTED PUPS GRILL. IT WAS THE BUILDING THAT GOLDMONEY OWNS THAT UISED TO BE AN OPTOMETRIS OFFICE, SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE PORTA JOHNS ON CONCERT EVENINGS.
