How Could You Go Wrong?

20,679 physicians said Lucky Strikes Cigarettes are less irritating. Is saying something is less irritating an endorsement? How could you go wrong?

  1. And he looks just like FDR.

I remember an ad for a pain reliever a while ago in which the company ran one questionnaire asking doctors about their recommendations. Then ran a second one only to the positive responders. Their ad then said something like 9 out of 19 doctors recommend.

It's advertising after all. Do we expect truth from ads and politicians?

  3. Daddy Mack smoked Lucky Strikes and died of a stroke at 82. Do you reckon he'd have lived forever if he'd not been a smoker?

He used to say that his father (who didn't smoke, BTW) lived to 88, his grandfather lived to 96 and his great grandfather lived to 122, finally so old that they shot him to get him out of the way!

  4. Nell,

I don't smoke anymore but I eat stuff with a lot of fat, such as ribs. My argument is that regardless how much you eat the only the right things you are still going to die of something.... why live a long paranoid life, you might as well enjoy yourself some.
Smoking, I don't know about, because other people that don't smoke do get cancer from second hand smoke - people should able to choose their own vice.
