Lookie!!! I Am On the Front Page of the Paper Today!

Yep, there I am on the front page of The Marietta Daily Journal today.

You will have to click on the picture to make it big enough to look at.

That is me sitting on Smiley Burnette aka Frog Millhouse. That picture wasn't taken yesterday. It was taken probably about 61 years ago.

Also the picture on the left with the guy sitting on a bail of cotton. That is Anna's great-grandfather Marion Prance that Anna's mother Marie donated to the preserving of Cobb Photographs cause.

  2. Carolyn,
This is the same picture I am seriously considering having my family submit with obituary to be published in the paper when I die.
Sort of a take-off of all these old farts who die and their picture is that of a young military officer or a cheerleader of something else with a eternal youth image.
What is more eternal youth can having your picture taken with a cowboy star?

  3. Alright! I'm about to make a store run so I'll pick up a copy.

I always wanted to have my picture taken with me smoking a cigar and standing next to Clint Eastwood. But we're both too old now. lol

  4. Deborah,

Well, if your taste changes and want to have your picture taken with George Clooney The Book Exchange on Canton Road has a life-size cardboard cutout of him....bring your own cigar.

  5. George Clooney - naw. He has no Mo-Jo.

However, if you see a life-size cut-out of Gene Hackman, lemme know.

  6. Deborah,
Popeye! I think Gene Hackman played Popeye in the French Connection - the first movie I remember seeing him in.
He has sort of stepped aside I think. I haven't seen him in any movies lately.

  7. Aw, Eddie, I'm jealous!! As a youngster, I watched sooooo many old cowboy movies with Smiley in them. You were lucky! and it's a cute pic!

  8. Judy,
I don't blame you for being jealous. Old Frog and I have been friends for a long time.
We used to kid each other all the time. You might recall seeing him on TV riding a horse fast holding onto his hat hollering, "Hey Eddie! Wait for me!"
Wait, that was my old buddy Andy Devine - never mind.

  9. And there you are! As Carolyn said "How about that." Smiley is better than Clooney. Kenju is right.

And you deserve to be on GMA or Time or something up at that level.

  10. Si,
    "There you are" -
    But wait! Here I am!
    I'm confused!
