The Whispering Angel

The name of this painting is Saint Matthew and the Angel by Rembrandt. It was painted in 1661. Anna and I saw it at the High Art Museum in Atlanta when we went to the Louvre’s France’s Royal Exhibit.

While there we bought a monthly calendar as a souvenir. This is March.

The Angel is supposed to be whispering inspirational and religious notes into Saint Matthew’s ear for him to write his book in the New Testament.

Or is she whispering sweet nothings?

  4. Gee, I hope James Cameron doesn't get ahold of it.....no telling what he'd say was being whispered

  5. I hate to sound ignorant but who is John Cameron? Is he the one that claims he recently found Jesus's toomb?
