This was the Winter Headquarters of General George Washington at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, during the Revolutionary War, that we visited when the boys were kids. Compared to today’s dwelling square footage standards it probably rated as not all that big. Plus he had to entertained officers, visiting dignitaries and politicians, and have offices for his help, cooks, a kitchen, and probably the restroom was behind a tree.
