Professor Marston and his Playmates or WONDER WOMEN

 

Movie Review PROFESSOR MARSTON AND WONDER WOMEN.

Professor William moultan Marston (1893-1947) was a college professor.  He and his wife were doing research and hired a student intern.  In time his wife and he fell in love romantically  with the intern.  They lived together as husband and wives.  The two women had babies.  Somehow a neighbor, not knocking on the door, walked in on them having a threesome or menage a trois.   Word spread quickly and the neighborhood kids beat up their kids, the neighbors picked on them, and they got fired.

Women’s rights and equality was delt with a lot during the movie and it all apparently  inspired Prof Marston. 

He created WONDER WOMAN who belonged to an all women Amazon Kingdom that fought evil and kicked evil men’s asses all over the place.

Also he musical knee slapping jazz beat going on while something good was happening in the movie was a nice addition.

WONDER WOMAN was created by Marston, but discovered by Max Gaines who got several superheroes their start.  Max Gaines was played by Oliver Platt.

Afterwards, in real life Max Gaines was killed in a motor boating accident and his son, William Gaines took over the comicbook publishing company, not to keep it going but to disassemble it or sell it.  But one thing led to another and not long and he over a famous publishing company that published horror comics, war comics, science fiction, and two satirical comics, one being MAD Comicbook.  MAD is the only one still standing, but it is now owned by another company.
