There is a college in Nacogoches, Texas, that about this
time of the year, the students visit elderly folks in the community and ask do
they have any yard work they needed done, by a student, completely free.
The students get grade credit points and the college gets
points with the community. Everybody
wins.
It got me thinking if our local college, Kennesaw State, had
that same community service and knocked
on our door and ask is there anything they can do to help me.
I might say, “See that big ugly cactus?” pointing at it.
When they confirm they see it I might say, “It would be nice
if you got rid of it.”
Of course, I might forget to tell them it belongs to my
neighbor.
