Here is an unique comparison.  ARCHIE lampooned  by MAD Comicbook  in the early 1950s and again this month in MAD Magazine.  Both look like they were done by the same artist.  Wrong.  The first one (above) is by Bill Elder (died 2008) and the second (below) this month one by Tom Richmond, over 60 years later.

Will Elder’s ghost should smile at that, knowing imitation is the sincerest  form of flattery.
