From the UNCLE JOHN'S BATHROOM READER WONDERFUL
WORLD OF ODD tells of some interesting facts of the power of prayer.
Or, you
might say, the not-so-power of prayer.
Through a
huge series of surveys the bottom line: the outcome of a target person that strangers
prayed for him/her had no effect, good
or bad.
However, the
people that were informed that they were being prayed for, for the most part,
had negative results.
I have a
theory on why negative results of the people that were informed: Humans as a general rule are a lazy lot, and will get out of work and have someone else do their work whenever they can. Whatever they were doing to get better after they were informed they were being prayed for they
eased up on their vigor and rigor and that cause the illness to regain its
stronghold. I think there is something in the Bible about "The Lord Helps Who Helps Him/Herself.
But the bottom line is the bottom line.
But the bottom line is the bottom line.
