I came
across these pictures of Herman Talmadge (1913-2002) that I took of Herman on his last campaign
trail in 1980 in downtown Marietta.
Herman was an old south politician.
Although I
appreciated his intense questions on the
Watergate Judicial Panel, I heard a lot of crooked things about him also.. He
had a saying he told the press: "I
don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right." And it worked many years. But the 1980 election told him it was time to
go.
