Marie's
Postcard Collection. Fort Francis E.
Warren. On the back it says Fort Francis
E. Warren named after the grand old Senator from Wyoming.
His first
name was Fort?
It goes on
to say in bygone days it was known as Fr. D. A. Russell and was established
during the days of the Indians and Buffalo to protect the Union Pacific
Railroad.
It must have
been protecting them mostly from the Buffalo - because in those bygone days it
was a sport for gentlemen sportsmen to shoot buffalo from the comfort of their
RR car.
