Speaking of Banned Books*

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD by Harper Lee was banned from the Advanced Placement English courses in Lindale, Texas, in 1996. The reason cited was that “it conflicted with the values of the community”.**

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD has been called a “powerful antiracism novel”. So the values of the Lindale community are different from the values in the book eh? Tch tch.
