I remember when Winston Ray died in a car wreck. He had just started driving. He was driving on Talcott Circle and hit a street sign or utility pole, I forgot which. It was a sad event.
I also remember the assistant principal Lloy Cox told me I could not go to the funeral, he was a 10th grade, therefore I shouldn't have known him. I knew Winston very well. I went to the funeral anyway. It was at Maple Avenue Methodist Church.
