This time editor Harvey Kurtzman lampoons classic poem
THE FACE UPON THE FLOOR by H. Antoine D'Arey. It is the real poem. Why did Kurtzman take such a daring move as to lampoon something with using the poem itself? Is it because of it being a classic timeless poem? Yes it is. That means it stood the test of time...namely the test of copyright. It is public domain, anybody can use the poem without paying royalties. The article was illustrated by Jack Davis, all except the last panel, which was drawn by Basil Wolverton.
