Sept 22 GOBAG Get Together
Monty served hot dogs and chili at the Good Old Boys & Girls (GOBAG) get together tonight. I don’t like to use the word meeting, because meeting means, well a meeting… like being called to order, like seconding that motion, and like ORDER!! ORDER!!! I say ORDER!
On the other hand a Get Together is just a get together, nothing formal, no rules, no seconding that, but just to eat and shoot the shit with friends we have known since our formative years. We mostly have Marietta High School in common, but that is not written in stone… some didn’t go school at MHS – and that is OK. Some don’t eat, and that is OK too…. really OK for me…I get to eat more. And it is darn good chili. Better than Brandi’s World Famous chili.
We are getting so big we have to wear nametags. If this growth keeps up the present rate we will have to be re- introduced to ourselves about every two to three weeks…. It is not that we don’t know each other, we are getting so old, we just don’t remember each other.
A short biography along with the nametag would be helpful.
I DO NOT KNOW THE GUY ON THE RIGHT, BUT THE DUDE ON THE LEFT IS HOMER MUSE.WHAT A CHARACTER.

You've got 10 pics and I can't see all the name tags. Who's the guy standing with Paul in the 1st pic? By the way, Paul looks great ... he stays in shape, plus he's still got hair :)
ReplyDeleteWho's the one in green standing with Arnold Guest? I always recognize Arnold because he's colossal just like in high school.
Who's the one in a plaid shirt sitting next to Terry?
Will you get someone to take a pic of just you and Paul next time?
I really enjoy reading about the BBQ on Wednesdays! ... surprised you weren't rained out last night.
Geri,
ReplyDeleteYep, no rain. It will probably be pouring down Saturday during the Bell Reunion.
The guy with the green shirt with Arnold Guest is Jennings Patterson.
The guy sitting with Terry Townsend is Parks Groover.
By the way, you can place your mouse on the picture and click the right button and a little menu will pop up, click the selection that says "Save as" and usually I have already named them... like the one I just told you will probably say "Parks Groover & Terry Townsend".
Oh I almost forgot, in the first picture is Paul and Homer Muse and in another picture is Paul and Tlllman Lowman.
Ask anytime - I was just telling you a short cut if you didn't want to deal with me.
Aw yes, right click... that'll work. Thanks for quick tip.
ReplyDeleteI remember Thomas Stokes, LB pool lifeguard, and Mark McGee in combat ball in PE with Mr. Lundy and Jerry McBee, football; The Dennard Brothers; Mike Dilbeck; etc...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories

Thanks Ralph for telling that. We sort of wallow in our Marietta teen memories.
