CSA General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson (1824-1863) was maybe the most respected by his men Confederate Generals in the Civil War. This story tells of Stonewall being mortally wounded by his own men.
This is from EC’s FRONTLINE COMBAT, published about 1952. The story was written by the comic book’s editor, Harvey Kurtzman and drawn by Jack Davis.
As in all of Kurtzman’s war stories he tried to be as historically accurate as possible
The hero my high school was named after!
ReplyDeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteMaybe my grammar school should have been named Stonewall Jackson Grammar School instead of Waterman Street, after all, there was a stonewall out front by sidewalk.
