Coca-Cola sign postcard.
This is a very big bright Coco-Cola sign. You expect to see signs like this in Las Vegas or Times Square. But again, you would expect to see big Coca-Cola signs in its hometown.
According to the back of the card in was constructed in 1948, costing $50,000. It is 48 feet in height, and a diameter of 33 feet. The words “Coca-Cola” alone are 28 feet across.
It was constantly changing backgrounds.
It was in Atlanta, between the fork in of Forsyth and Peachtree Streets, between the Lowe’s Grand Theater and the Carnegie Library.
The Lowe’s Grand is where “Gone With The Wind” premiered.
I think they moved it someplace else, I forgot where. It seems like we came up on it one time when in downtown Atlanta. It may have been near the Underground Atlanta entrance which is near the Coca-Cola Museum.
If you ever are in Atlanta, check out the Coca-Cola Museum. After the tour is over, next to the gift shop you get to drink all the Coke you want free… watch it, I know of one kid whose lips turned blue he drunk so much cold Coke. I thought he was going to have some sort of thermal-system breakdown. But, he didn’t.
Were you that kid, Eddie? LOL
