Today Anna said something like, "It is hard to believe it is already 12 - 26".
I didn't say a word but suddenly begin searching my mind inside and out. I had no memory of 12 - 25, Christmas Day. I had no idea how the Christmas Dinner went, or our Christmas Eve dinner at my sisters' went.... I did not have a clue. Oh me, I thought, my mind is going.
Then, I looked at the electronic clock in the car dash and it said 12:26.
Whew!
Wow, Eddie, you sort of had a time-traveling moment there, didn't you? LOL
ReplyDeleteWAHAHAhahahahahahaha! I bet you would not have been able to confess losing that time either. Heheehe
ReplyDeleteI have sat down in the recliner after a hard day at work and fallen asleep, and thought, when I awoke, that it was already the next morning and I was late for work. I hurried to shower and dress, before I realized it was still the "day before". Made me worry about my mind.....
What on earth are you all talking about? That never happens to me.
ReplyDeleteWell, there was that recent episode where I ended up in Griffin coming home the day after Thanksgiving. I had no clue until I passed a large church I'd never seen before. I didn't remember turning off GA Hwy 85. It's kind of scary when you realize you're in the wrong town and it takes a few minutes to recognize anything familiar.
It's comforting to know that as long as I recognize a few landmarks, I can get home. If I come to Chattahoochee, I'm too far west; the Atlantic Ocean, I'm too far east. When I reach the Florida line, I know the way back home from there. The GPS thingie that DH bought recently will take all the fun out of navigating.
Jessie Pollock always said that as long as one has a gas credit card and a compass....
