On the back of this print says "Lucile Petty in 103 year old dress". I don't know who Lucile is. Petty is probably her married names and every body in my data base is files by their birth surname.
The rhythm & blues song "Lucile" keeps wailing in my head.
Funny we both thought of music at the name Lucile. Myself...I thought of BB King, who I had the pleasure of meeting once upon a time...
ReplyDeleteBird,
ReplyDeleteB.B. King! That's the orginator I was trying to think of and it didn't quiet float up to my mind-on-line.
If I remember correctly, Lucile was the name of his true love - his guitar.
YUP. I've seen Lucille. It's actually cool b/c I was on the same STAGE with BB and Lucille. I worked for many years as a sign language interpreter for the deaf. Every year I volunteered to interpret on stage with musicians at a music festival in Jackson, MS. It just so happened that BB was playing there that year and, OF COURSE, I volunteered for that! When he started in with "The Thrill is Gone" the thrill for me DEFINATELY wasn't gone!
ReplyDeleteBird,
ReplyDeleteWow! On the same stage as BB and his mistress? And, you were even part of his show. Good for you.
I know you will remember that the rest of your life, and he might too.
We went to his club on Beale Street in Memphis but he wasn't there.
We have been to a bunch of restaurants and joints celebrities own and was told beforehand that they drop in all the time, unannounced.
