This morning I rode my bike 6 miles. I passed by a house that a crew of men were cutting the pecan trees down out front. The reason they were cutting down the trees is that they have to make room to get to the old house standing, so they can bulldoze it and replace it with an office building.
I am distantly related to the family that was bought out. They lived there a long time.
Sad.
disgusting. I think there has a been a lot written in the past year about old trees that are getting chopped down to make way for McMansions or office complexes. Poor trees. Poor people who need to breathe the air that those babies generate, or the shade, or just the view of big trees that have been around longer than we have.
ReplyDeleteSeeing all these big beautiful home place trees being cut down and older homes bull-dozed away makes me feel like the Indian with a tear in his eye, sitting on his horse.
